Plant Propagation
Plant propagation is the process of creating new plants from a variety of sources: seeds, cuttings, bulbs and other plant parts. Propagating plants can also refer to the artificial or natural dispersal of plants.
For most plants, plant propagation can be achieved by removing the bottom set of leaves from a plant (new roots will often develop from this area) and dipping the end you just cut into a rooting compound. Rooting compond (growth hormone) will help seal the cut plant tissue and promote new root growth. Finally, place the cutting into a small pot with moist vermiculite, perlite or other soilless potting mix.
